In 1990 a Florida rapper put out a single called Play that Funky Music. On the B side was a song he had written when he was sixteen, which went on to become hip hop’s first number one single.
These days Rob van Winkle, or Vanilla Ice, is a 44-year-old married father of two who has sold 15 million albums.
