Faith No More, Judas Priest and Soundgarden will headline Westfest 2015, it has been announced – and organisers say there are more big names to come.

The second Westfest will be held at Auckland's Alexandra Park on March 3. Other acts announced this morning include Lagwagon, All Time Low, Wonder Years and Crown the Empire.

The promoters say a second line-up "of the same size" will be revealed in October, reports the New Zealand Herald.

Soundgarden, known for grunge classics 'Spoonman', 'Black Hole Sun' and 'Pretty Noose' broke up at the height of their powers in the mid-1990s. Singer Chris Cornell went on to form Audioslave with former members of Rage Against the Machine, and drummer Matt Cameron joined Pearl Jam.

The band reformed in 2010 and two years later released comeback record King Animal.

Faith No More, best known for hits 'Epic', 'Falling to Pieces' and 'Last Cup of Sorrow' broke up around the same time as Soundgarden and reformed in 2009. They have a new album due in April.

Metal legends Judas Priest have been filling stadiums since the early 1970s, having sold more than 45 million albums.
