It's all over for the overs.

Last night on The X Factor NZ, Stan Walker farewelled the last of his acts when Anna Wilson was voted off by Mel Blatt, Ruby Frost and Daniel Bedingfield.

Wilson's journey came to an end after she went head to head with GAP5, who were in the bottom two for the second week in a row.

GAP5 "brought it" in a bid to save their bacon with an in an energy-loaded performance of Blackstreet's 'No Diggity', whereas Anna Wilson chose a cover of John Lennon's 'Imagine'.

Two very different styles and two very different acts.

The audience in the studio was split almost 50/50, with a slight noise advantage to Wilson.

But after lots of debate, it was Wilson the judges sent home.

The bond between Walker and Wilson was obvious.

Walker has become close with all of his acts and it shows.

Wilson was thankful for the time she got to spend with her mentor, saying it was the highlight of her time on the show.

“Thank you for all the time and energy you have given to me.” she said.

An emotional Walker was full of praise for Wilson as well.

“I’m so proud of her.  This ain’t the last you’ll see of Anna.”

So now, Walker’s time as a mentor is over.

The elimination leaves seven acts remaining to fight for The X Factor NZ title: Tom Batchelor, Benny Tipene, Whenua Patuwai, Cassie Henderson, Jackie Thomas, GAP5, and Moorhouse.

When they take the stage next week the theme will be 'Hollywood'.
