Cloudy skies haven’t prevented Australians from catching a glimpse of the solar eclipse.

The Solar Saros 133 eclipse, an event which occurs once every 18 years when the sun is obscured by the moon, was filmed from Queensland.

The total eclipse occurred there just before 10am New Zealand time.
