High-profile model and reality star Kendall Jenner has alluded to a condition that sounds like sleep paralysis - if a teaser for an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians is to go by.

In the trailer, Jenner explains that she sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night and is unable to move - the core symptom of sleep paralysis.

The following clip shows a phone call between Jenner and her mother Kris, who says she's "just got anxiety" - but Jenner retorts by saying that while everyone says she's fine, "I don't feel fine".

In another teaser aired in October, Jenner said she was "done arguing with people" about it.

"I promise one day when I'm rushed to the hospital, then you guys are going to wake up," she said.

Sleep paralysis is closely related to rapid eye movement (REM) sleep - and when a sufferer experiences it upon waking up, it usually means they have become conscious before the REM cycle is complete.

The condition usually lasts from anywhere between a few seconds to a few minutes - and in very rare and severe cases, for a number of hours.

Other common symptoms during sleep paralysis are hearing threatening voices or seeing visions, and historically among religious groups, the condition has been linked with the presence of a demon.

The new episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians will be released in the US this Sunday.
