Pregnant Beyonce's Grammys performance gains standing ovation

Beyonce has given one of the most memorable performances of the 59th Grammy awards .

Her mother, Tina Knowles, introduced her daughter: "With a mother's pride, my daughter, Beyonce."

Heavily pregnant with twins, the Lemonade singer was dressed in an intricate gold gown with a halo-esque hairpiece, in an outfit which seemed to channel the Virgin Mary.

Beyonce's nine minute performance of 'Love Drought' and 'Sandcastles" from her album Lemonade was mixed with pre-filmed footage and a spoken word voiceover. Her daughter Blue Ivy featured in the video, in which a digital version of Beyonce poses semi-naked, before being replaced by the real Beyonce onstage.

Her performance got a standing ovation from the crowd, including her husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy.

Lemonade is up for 'Album of the Year', with the video for 'Formation' already winning 'Video of the Year'.
