Lorde gushes adorably over message from the Fonz

Lorde says her mind was blown by a personal message from the Fonz himself, which was played to her during an interview on the BBC.

The Kiwi songstress was talking to BBC 2 host Jo Whiley who had organised for Henry Winkler, the actor who portrayed Arthur 'Fonzie' Fonzarelli, to record the audio greeting.

"This is Henry Winkler. Lorde - you are the bomb," he said, over the Happy Days jingle.

"Your lyrics are phenomenal. This is just the beginning of your shooting star. My family saw you on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago here in America and you were spectacular."

Lorde, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, couldn't contain her excitement as the audio played, laughing along to it with glee.

"Oh my goodness, you could not have given me a better gift... Henry! Oh, I love him so much," she exclaimed after the clip ended.

"I'm the biggest fan of his... he's like my third grandfather. Oh my gosh, that's the coolest thing ever."

Lorde explained that a good friend of hers is dating Winkler's son, so they "know each other through proximity", but they've never actually met.

Earlier this month, Winkler took to Twitter to say he couldn't wait for Lorde's new album Melodrama, which is set for a June release.
