The Bachelor NZ 2017: Hasta la vista Mariana

Mariana Morrison is the fourth evictee from The Bachelor NZ.

It wasn't altogether surprising that she did not receive a rose at the ceremony.

She outclassed every other bachelorette with her composure and by having life achievements that weren't just being pretty.

Bachelor Zac even admitted on Sunday night's episode that she intimidated him. Not only is she three years older than him, but her achievements include being a lecturer and a PhD student while also a single mother. Perhaps it's a little bit of a cut above being the head coach at a surf lifesaving club.

It's something that Mariana has heard before. "I get that a lot," she said, then laughed, "but maybe I'm just in the wrong market!"

She says she'll miss Zac, just a little, but didn't feel she had been shortchanged by their brief time together.

"The time that I had with Zac was enough for both of us to realise that we're in different places."

Mariana will miss the other girls even more. She remained composed when asked about whether the girls were too pushy on the show, given the cat fights and tension over whose turn it is to interrupt Zac's private dates.

"I made life-long friends with all of the girls," says Mariana.

"I've never ever felt any of the girls were too pushy."

Clearly she wasn't affected by what looks like the emerging cold war of super egos on the show.

Despite leaving the show, Mariana is still optimistic and looking for love. But she hasn't yet found anyone.

"I remain as single as the day I went on the show!" she says.

Despite her moment in the Bachelor sun, no potential suitors have stepped forward with messages or friend requests.

Although there could be one unlikely candidate for her heart. When playing Shag, Marry, Kill, she chose to kill Donald Trump, marry Zac, and yes….shag Winston. Although, sorry Winnie, that's only when faced between you and Donald Trump.

The search for her new Winnie led her to the Bachelor. When asked whether she came on the show for fame or love, Mariana says: "I'm came on the show genuinely to find love."

But she's putting the search on hold for the moment. And she isn't planning any more crazy dating stunts. "This was probably the craziest I've ever done."

And besides, she's already preparing for another open ocean swim to support a young orphan who lost their parents to suicide and cancer. She's got things to do.
