Hello Pork Pie - film car up for auction

  • 27/04/2017

The star of the Kiwi film Pork Pie is up for sale on Trade Me.

The Blondini Mini Cooper S featured in the 2017 re-imagining of the classic Kiwi car chase film, Goodbye Pork Pie.

While other cars used in the film came to an untimely demise, the film's producer promises this one made it through relatively unscathed.

"My brother, who was sadly burned to death at the end of the shoot (god bless his soul), and my other brother, who was driven by a stunt driver from above in a remotely driven roll cage on his roof), were the two major stunt cars in the film and completed all of the more vigorous stunt action," the Trade Me ad says.

"My role on set wasn't very physically exerting. They cast me for my "manual shift and acting chops" they said…"

The two-door orange hatchback is a manual and runs on petrol.

"I also went to the Doc for some minor cosmetic surgery (don't judge me, all us movie stars are doing it these days..), so my body is in great nick."

Whoever purchases the car will also get a Pork Pie movie poster and DVD signed by the cast and filmmakers.

"The Producer of the film has been driving me since the shoot. He's looked after me well. He says he's sad to see me go but needs to free up some dosh for his next movie. Showbiz huh?"

As of Thursday morning, 11 people have bid on the auction. The bids are approaching $34,0000, and the auction closes on May 2.
