The first trailer for the long-awaited new Star Trek television series has finally landed.
Star Trek: Discovery has suffered a number of delays and setbacks, but none of that is evident in the 90-second preview that hit the internet on Thursday (NZ time).
It's still not clear when the series, set a decade before the original show made in the 1960s, will hit screens, except that it's sometime in the northern hemisphere autumn (our spring).
The first season will have 15 episodes, and come to CBS All Access and Netflix.
In the trailer, the Klingons have a markedly different look to either the original series - where they were more human-like - or the Klingons of the 1980s and 1990s, with the ridged foreheads.
