The Bachelor NZ: Viarni, Lily on seeing each other kiss Zac

Following the finale of The Bachelor NZ's third season, the final two contestants have opened up about what it was like watching the other with Zac.

On The AM Show, Lily and Viarni confessed it was "hard" and "weird" to see each others' relationship develop with the 28-year-old Surf Life Saving coach, but acknowledged they were getting into when they signed up.

"It was really hard to watch back, but it wasn't anything I wasn't aware of," Viarni said.

"I love [Lily] to bits, so why wouldn't he have a strong connection with her? But yeah, it is hard to watch it - it is weird."

Lily agreed, saying the programme isn't something they'd watch together.

"You don't get together on a Friday and say, 'Let's watch each other pash each other's boyfriend'. It's not like that," she said.

"You know this is what you're getting yourself into and you kind of have to say, 'This is what I expect'. If you have a sook about it, you knew what you were getting yourself into, honey."

Lily said she's pleased with the way she conducted herself when Zac dropped her in favour of Viarni.

"I feel like the way that I handled it, and the way that he is, and the mutual respect we have for one another - I wasn't mad about the results or unhappy about it, so I can't really say I have any negative feelings towards it," she said.

"I'm not too bad. There's been a lot of time to let everything blow over and heal - and I'm just happy for them, honestly... [Viarni's] my mate, he's my mate - I couldn't be any happier. We're all friends."

Lily has addressed becoming an audience favourite and the speculation that the people want her to star in New Zealand's first The Bachelorette.

"I haven't quite considered it yet, but I guess I'd have to wait until I had to consider it," she said.

Fans can only hope.
