Although Jay Z and Future collaborated on DJ Khaled's 'I Got the Keys', it appears the pair are feuding with each other.

Jay Z references Future on the opening track of his new album 4:44, which was released on June 30.

In the song 'Kill Jay Z', the husband of Beyonce raps, "I don't even know what you would've done."

"In the future, other ni**as playin' football with your son / You would've lost it."

The line is being seen as a reference to Future's son, who was famously seen playing football with Ciara's new husband, NFL star Russell Wilson, according to reports.

In a Snapchat story posted on Monday (local time), Future responded with a photo of himself holding a stack of cash to his ear. He captioned it, "U ain't got the juice like dat. MOOD. (sic)".

It seems to be a reference to another song on the album, 'The Story of O.J', in which Jay Z raps, "Y'all on the 'Gram holdin' money to your ear / There's a disconnect, we don't call that money over here."

The supposed beef between the two must have occurred fairly recently, as it was only a month ago that Jay Z included Future in a list of rappers who have inspired him.

The song also appears to have antagonised rapper Boosie Badazz, who ranted about it in an Instagram Live video on Sunday (local time).

He hit out at the idea of doing as Jay Z says, asking rhetorically, "Okay if Jay Z say 'suck a d**k', is you gonna suck a d**k?"

Reading concerned comments on the post, he assured fans he wasn't starting a war with the rap king.

"It's not gonna be on YouTube, Boosie did not diss Jay Z," he said.

"All I said was, which I will say again and again: I f**k with Jay Z hustle. But everybody in my DMs saying I'm known for putting stacks to my ear. And I shouldn't put stacks to my ear no more because Jay Z said don't put stacks to my ear. No way am I saying f**k Jay-Z, all I'm saying is I do what the f**k I want to do. I put whatever I want to my ear. All I'm saying is we're different animals."
