Fallout 4: Game of the Year edition coming, two years after original release

A Game of the Year edition of Fallout 4 is set to hit shelves in September, almost two years since the original game was first released.

The post-apocalyptic, open-world game from Bethesda Softworks received several major accolades, including Best Game of 2015 by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

In it, players take on the role of a Vault-dweller who emerges into the wasteland 210 years after the Great War to explore, and do battle with baddies and mutated creatures.

Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition will include all six add-ons - Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Far Harbor, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop and Nuka-World.

The fan favourite Pip-Boy Edition of the game will also be re-released, after selling out quickly during its initial, limited run - although not with the same casing as that first run.

Meanwhile, a Fallout board game is also in the works from Fantasy Flight Games.

Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition is set for release in North America on September 26, reportedly for US$59.99. New Zealand pricing and dates have not been announced.
