The real reason Cersei and Bronn never share a scene revealed

Attentive Game of Thrones fans may have wondered why, after seven seasons, two particular characters have never appeared onscreen together.

Cersei Lannister and Ser Bronn of the Blackwater are both prominent characters who live in King's Landing. Bronn is good friends with both of Cersei's brothers - so why have the two seemingly never met?

Reportedly, it's all because the two actors were once an item, and it didn't end well.

Lena Headey and Jerome Flynn, who play Cersei and Bronn respectively, were romantically linked in 2002 but the relationship ended on bad terms.

The ex-couple now works together on one of the biggest TV show in the world, but neither seem to be ready to put the past behind them.

"Jerome and Lena aren't on speaking terms anymore and they are never in the same room at the same time," an anonymous source told The Telegraph

"It's a pity because they appeared to have patched things up for a while, but now the word is they should be kept apart at all costs."

This off-screen tension explains the strange moment in this week's finale when Bronn abruptly left the most important meeting of the series - moments before Cersei entered.

Whether we'll ever see the two share a scene remains to be seen, with the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones not estimated to air until late 2018 at the earliest.
