First Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom footage released

The first look at the sequel to Jurassic World has been released and it's cute rather than scary.

Director Colin Trevorrow published just six seconds of footage on his Twitter account, showing Chris Pratt tickling a baby velociraptor.

"From our Jurassic family to yours," Trevorrow captioned the clip, released just before the US holiday of Thanksgiving.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's plot details haven't been released, but it sounds like the film might have a more serious message than its predecessor.

"The dinosaurs will be a parable of the treatment animals receive today: the abuse, medical experimentation, pets, having wild animals in zoos like prisons, the use the military has made of them, animals as weapons," Trevorrow said during the Sitges Film Festival in Spain.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released in June, 2018.
