Since Netflix officially severed ties with actor Kevin Spacey, following several sexual harassment allegations, fans are clamouring for actor Kevin James to replace him in hit Netflix series House of Cards

This month the streaming service announced it will no longer work with Spacey, following four claims of sexual misconduct; terminating the series that was about to enter its sixth season and canning the production of Gore, a biographical film the  star was expected to produce and star in.

Now, a Dutch man has started a Change.org petition to replace Kevin Spacey with Kevin James, known for his leading roles in Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

The petition has amassed more than 22,000 signatures and shows no signs of slowing down.

"Losing a great show is hard, no matter the circumstances," Robbie Pyma wrote in the description. "However, with hardship comes the opportunity for a great show to become one of the greatest television shows of all time.

"I think Kevin James can elevate House of Cards to a globally adored franchise like Game of Thrones and make the entire world focus on one of the most important Netfix Original series there is."

It wouldn't be the first time James has played the President of the United States. He owned the role in the 2015 Adam Sandler comedy Pixels.

Many of those who have signed the petition have confirmed why they think it's a smart move.

"If you've ever seen Paul Blart: Mall Cop, then you know that actors of Kevin James' calibre only come around once in a life time."

"Kevin James is a national treasure. Kevin Spacey is a rapist. Both are named Kevin. Seems like a smart business decision to me."

"Kevin James is a master thespian who would not only bring the same gravitas as his predecessor, but also elevate the House of Cards to be the Citizen Kane of our generation."
