Chris Brown has invited controversy from his fans after posting a video on Instagram of his three-year-old daughter, Royalty, cuddling a baby monkey.
In the video posted on December 8 he asks the girl if that's her "baby" and tells her the monkey will get bigger than her as little Royalty rocks the exotic animal back and forth.
Brown's followers did not seem pleased with his choice of exotic pet for his daughter, with many labelling the gift irresponsible.
"Primates are not pets," says one commenter.
"It could of [sic] been a kitten or a puppy rather than an exotic animal, idiot," says another.
The monkey in the video appears to be a capuchin, which grows to be around 2.9- 3.9kg.
The Humane Society of the United States advises against keeping monkeys as pets, saying they can become more aggressive and territorial as they age.
