The entire popular romantic comedy The Big Sick is allegedly available to stream on pornography site Pornhub, under its 'interracial' section.
The film released to critical and commercial success earlier this year and dramatises the story of how Indian comic Kumail Nanjiani met his wife, navigated the cultural differences of their families, and dealt with a sudden medical crisis.
Nanjiani himself wrote and starred in the film, and even drew attention to it's surprise new home online, tweeting his over 2 million followers on Christmas Eve: "The whole movie is available on pornhub. Don't ask me how I know. It's under 'interracial'. This is not a joke."
The comedian kept a sense of humour about his film's new home, instead encouraging his Twitter followers who are unable to afford the movie on streaming services to instead head to the porn site and watch for free.
When Pornhub employees tweeted the comic, notifying him they were frantically searching through 'Big Sick' videos on Christmas to take the piece down, Nanjiani told them to enjoy their break instead.
"I didn't mean it should be removed!" he wrote. "Enjoy your Christmas! You've brought joy to so many people! You deserve this break!"
Some Twitter users were quick to show sympathy with Pornhub staff.
"I am feeling for the Pornhub staff who have to watch all the other videos tagged 'big sick' on Christmas. God speed," one wrote.
Another gave the cheeky response: "I also search @Pornhub for "big sick" videos but only because I haven't disabled my phone's autocorrect."
Due to browser restrictions, Newshub staff were unable to confirm if the film is still available.
