Christchurch teen admits sending threatening letters

A Christchurch teenager has admitted sending letters that threatened to harm children if their parents at Mt Pleasant School didn't give him money.

The 17-year-old, whose name is suppressed, will be sentenced on charges of extortion in January.

He was arrested in September after leaving two letters in letterboxes in June, triggering complaints to both the school and police.
