Stolen Jaguar found in Temuka

A business owner in Temuka is to thank for locating a stolen 1989 silver Jaguar.

The car was taken during an aggravated robbery and kidnapping this morning in Christchurch. Two male offenders forced a man to take them to two ATM's and a petrol station before he was able to escape.

The Jaguar was towed into the Temuka Challenge Service Station and spotted by the business owner who was suspicious of two teenagers in such a distinctive car.

"The two teens have been taken into custody without incident and are being interviewed by police," Detective senior sergeant Greg Cottam says.

"This is another great example of members of the public working together with police to keep our communities safe," he says.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle that towed the Jaguar into the service station or anyone who may have information. You can contact them on (03) 363 7400 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
