Police are looking for a man and his car in relation to petrol drive-offs in Mount Maunganui and Rotorua earlier this month.
The drive-offs happened on March 22 and 23.
Police say the vehicle, a Subaru station wagon with a sunroof and rails to fit a roof rack, was also seen near an incident at Coronation Park in Mount Maunganui last Saturday.
The man is described as a Pacific Islander in his 20s and of medium to large build.

He has short hair on the sides of his head and it's longer in the middle, drawn into a ponytail.
