Police are investigating the death of a person hit by a train in Palmerston North.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 5am.
Currently, Railway Rd is closed between Roberts Line and the roundabout at Airport Dr as the site is cleared. This is expected to last several hours.
No further information regarding the victim will be released until their family has been notified.
The death is being referred to the coroner.
