Starting today, 3000 resident doctors went on strike. You may have heard about it and seen shots from outside the hospitals the doctors have walked out of.
But what about what goes on in those doctors' lives?
Is it hard working a 16-hour shift and what does it feel like to work 12 days consecutively?
Story asked one resident doctor to demonstrate what work and life is like, two weeks leading up to today's strike.
They're the people we trust our lives with and they are extremely exhausted and want reduced working hours.
Dr Sam Holford is one of our 3000 resident doctors around New Zealand and he's two years out of medical school at North Shore Hospital.
