A new school is to be built in the Hamilton suburb of Sylvester.
It will students from years one to six from the first term of 2019.
Education Minister Hekia Parata says an establishment board of trustees will soon be appointed. It will be responsible for appointing a principal and determining school policy.
Sylvester is a failry new suburb in the city's northeast.
