Skydiving accident in Queenstown

Two skydivers are in a stable condition with serious injuries after they crashed on landing at Drift Bay, near Queenstown.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 8:15am, and both skydivers have been taken to Dunedin Hospital.

The tandem pair were part of a staff training jump for Nzone Skydive.

Nzone's Derek Melnick says he wants to make it clear no customers have been injured.

It's unclear what injuries the pair have sustained, he says.

He says it was a normal training jump which is usually from around 15,000 feet in the air.

Worksafe and Victim Support are investigating the accident, police say.

Mr Melnick says Nzone has ceased operations for the day and they are investigating the cause of the crash.

He says they'll be doing everything they can to prevent it from happening again.
