Police are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly grabbed by an elderly man on his way to school on Wednesday.

The teenager was walking along Lancaster Rd in Beachhaven, Auckland, at around 8am.

He says a man aged in his 60s with a dragon tattoo on his face grabbed him and put into his car, before he fought him off and ran away.

The distinctive tattoo which went from the man's left ear, across his cheek and to his mouth, with the dragon's mouth lined up with the man's.

Police say the boy is thought to have suffered several seizures during this time and will be interviewed in the next few days by specialist child interviewers.

Tattooists who may have recently tattooed a man who matches that description should contact police.
