An Auckland woman has made a heartfelt plea for thieves to return the ashes of her two stillborn babies.

Fiona Grove, from Epsom, took to Facebook to explain she arrived home on Monday to find her front door smashed in, and some of her things taken.

But she says she "doesn't care about much of it" expect for a ”small heart-shaped trinket box” that was on her dressing table.

“Inside were the ashes of my twins who died at 19 weeks gestation.

“I will literally do anything to get them home to me.”

“I'm hoping that this post will be shared and someone will find it in their hearts to return my babies to me.

“They could put the box in my letter box. Or leave it by the front door they so kindly smashed in.”

Hoards of support is coming in for Ms Grove and her husband Tim, and the post has been shared more than 500 times overnight.
