Police have launched a homicide investigation after the discovery of a man's body in North Canterbury.
The body was discovered at the Waimakariri River bed near Harrs Rd at 10pm on Monday night.
The scene is now under police guard and will be the subject of a forensic scene examination over the coming days.
Police would like to hear form anybody who was in the vicinity of Harrs Rd and South Eyre Rd on Monday evening between 8pm and 10:30pm.
The identity of the male is yet to be confirmed.
