MetService has issued another severe thunderstorm warning for the Auckland region on Tuesday afternoon.
These thunderstorms are expected to be accompanied by torrential rain.
It comes after thunderstorms hit in the morning, flooding at least 10 houses and drowning cars.
Torrential rain can cause surface and/or flash flooding about streams, gullies and urban areas, and make driving conditions extremely hazardous.
"Moderate risk of severe thunderstorms for a big chunk of the North Island, and the cloud is already looking 'bubbly'
"Remember not everybody will see a thunderstorm, but it is worth being aware of the risk!"
