He was unresponsive when emergency services arrived and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Police say there were a number of items of interest found in the area. They will now be forensically examined to help with the homicide investigation.
On Tuesday Detective Senior Sergeant Marty James said police were confident that people in the Flaxmere community knew who was responsible for Mr Donner's death.
"It would be in your best interests to come to us before we come to you," he advised them.
The investigation team has thanked the members of the public that came forward with information.
