A person has been found dead in the Ōhinemutu suburb of Rotorua, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
The body was found on Lake Rd in Ōhinemutu shortly after 1am on Sunday morning, a police spokesperson confirmed.
"At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained," the spokesperson said in a statement.
"Police would like to hear from anyone with information that could assist with enquiries, and in particular any sightings of a person in the Lake Road area near Rotorua Hospital, between 10pm last night and 1am this morning."
Enquiries are underway and anyone with information that could assist authorities is encouraged to get in contact via the 105 phone service, referencing file number File 230507/9750.
