National MP Chester Borrows has pleaded not guilty to a charge laid after two people were injured at a TPP protest in Whanganui earlier this year.
The Deputy Speaker and Whanganui MP faces a count of careless use of a motor vehicle causing injury outside a motel in his electorate in March.
He appeared in Whanganui District Court on Tuesday morning and has been remanded at large until his next appearance in September.
A former police officer, Borrows said last month that he intended to defend the charge, which arose from an incident at a protest against the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement.
