NZ Initiative says 24 hour bars better than early closing hours

Police and Auckland Council have locked horns over when the city’s bars should close.

The police want city centre bars to shut up shop at 3am but the council wants them to stay open until 4am.

Is an earlier closing time a way to help reduce alcohol-fuelled crime?
