After flirting with triathlon last year, Braden Currie is about to re-introduce himself to the event that he has already won three times.

Currie has confirmed he will compete in next year's Coast to Coast after missing the event last year in favour of chasing a triathlon spot at Rio.

That did not go to plan as he struggled with the swimming leg.

The next three months will be dedicated to training, all about strength and endurance and getting back in the boat.

He also takes time out to share his knowledge with others. In this case it's a group of aspiring Coast to Coasters from Linwood College in Christchurch learning about mountain running.

The 30-year-old from Wanaka has a busy schedule lined up, and after dipping his toes in iron distance races like Challenge Wanaka, he is eyeing up events like Ironman NZ and the famed world championships in Kona.

But there are less than 100 days to Coast to Coast 2017 and plenty of hard work ahead.
