Hughie Fury would fight Joseph Parker in 'a carpark' to get WBO title

Hughie Fury doesn't care where he fights Joseph Parker for the WBO heavyweight title, he just wants to fight him.

The Brit is expected to be the first challenger to the young Kiwi's title, won last week by a majority decision over Andy Ruiz.

Fury has told Andrew Gourdie and Jim Kayes on RadioLIVE that  it doesn't bother him if the bout is New Zealand or the United Kingdom.

"Obviously that's up to the team," he said.

"I'm just a fighter. I jump in the ring and let my fists do the talking. It doesn't matter where it is, if it's in a carpark, a desert, even in a car; I don't care."

The 22-year-old would prefer a shot at WBC champion Deontay Wilder, as he believes the American to be the best heavyweight in the world, but a win over Parker would make his path to unifying the major titles clearer.

"The WBO has been good to me and I'd like to win that belt for them and then go for the WBC.

"I'll get that belt and then I'll hopefully get lined up for the next fight. This is what I want now; I want these big fights. I want these world titles; I want to take these belts.

"Basically there's a lot of hype in the heavyweight division at the minute, and these heavyweights have got these titles."

Fury, cousin to former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, says he wants to bring the belts back home.

"Since Tyson [Fury] won the heavyweight division, he's opened the book for everyone. If it wasn't for Tyson, Klitschko would still have them.

"Everyone's just grabbed hold of one. I'm going to bring it back for the family."

Fury says the outcome of a potential fight with Parker is already written.

"I am a true fighter and I am destined to be a world champion. I have been training like a professional since my first fight from when I was 11 years old.

"I have lived and breathed boxing. I have had the best sparing partners. I have fought in different places. I have the experience, and I can't wait to get my shot."

Joseph Parker's management team, Duco, suggested earlier in the week a Wilder unification bout was the Kiwi's preferred option, but multiple sources have reported that a fight with Fury is most likely.
