Chelsea continue to look unstoppable at the top of the Premier League title after they beat Swansea 3-1 on Saturday to extend their lead to 11 points.

Goals from Cesc Fabregas, Pedro and Diego Costa gave the home side victory, shrugging off a defiant Swansea side, who had gone into half-time level at 1-1.

Fabregas, playing his 300th Premier League game, put Chelsea ahead, but Fernando Llorente headed an equaliser right on the stroke of half-time.

Swansea thought they might have had a penalty with the scores at 1-1, but Pedro restored their lead with a shot Lukasz Fabianski should have saved.

Costa wrapped up the win with the third six minutes from time after good work by Eden Hazard.

"It's another step," Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said. "It wasn't easy to play against them.

"I think we deserved to win the game, we created a lot of chances. I'm pleased.

It's very important in these moments to have a big performance."

"The other teams still have to play (this weekend). We need another 29 points to win the league. If we do that, for sure we win the title but there are 12 games to the end. We have to go step by step."

Sunderland remain bottom, after their 2-0 defeat at seventh-placed Everton.

Idrissa Gana Gueye put Everton ahead five minutes before half-time and Romelu Lukaku killed off Sunderland hopes with the second on 80 minutes.

"We have to improve," Sunderland defender Bryan Oviedo said. "We need to start well in games, because it's the Premier League. It's difficult.

"There is still hope for us. We have a lot of games, the spirit is to keep fighting. We need to improve and prepare for the next game."

In the day's late match, West Ham ended the match with 10 men after the late sending off of Mikhail Antonio but held on for a 1-1 draw.

Troy Deeney gave Watford the lead with a third-minute penalty but Andrew Ayew equalized late on to keep West Ham ninth, two places and three points above Watford.
