Muddled communication put shade over Ross Taylor's Blackcaps T2o exclusion

Blackcaps coach Mike Hesson says Ross Taylor can force his way back into the New Zealand T20 squad, but he faces a long wait, and it won't be easy.

In an all-too-familiar tale of muddled communication among New Zealand Cricket ranks, Taylor revealed on Tuesday that he hasn't been told what he needs to do to get back in the team.

Taylor was today denied a chance to push his case to reclaim his spot in the Blackcaps T20 side - a New Zealand eleven warm up match against South Africa called off due to persistant Auckland rain.

Taylor wasn’t available to the press on Tuesday, hours after claiming Mike Hesson hasn't been talking to him following his exclusion from the T20 squad

"He just said I'm not in the team so he hasn't really said anything else," Taylor told Radio Sport.

Hesson was surprised by Taylor’s comments but acknowledges the former captains frustrations.

"There's certainly been some communication there we, communicate every day," said Hesson

"Every player when they're not involved and they're left out, they're disappointed, and I understand that, and like any player, they want to know how to get back in."

"Can he get back in? Without doubt."

Taylor's exclusion from the squad to face Bangladesh in December was cited as "performance based" by selector Gavin Larsen.

His last appearance at the World T20 in India last year

“I think when you talk about selection, you're talking about excluding someone, we're talking about including people aswell.”

Tom Bruce's selection and performance against Bangladesh mean it's now his spot to lose, with Colin Munro and Corey Anderson filling the other top order spots

"We've just had a series where we've played very well against Bangladesh, and from a batting lineup point of view we performed well so it's a tough side to get in."

With The blackcaps not likely to play another T20 international until the end of the year, New Zealand's most experienced T20 player faces a long wait to see if he can force his way back.
