The Government have granted Peter Fury dispensation to enter New Zealand for Hughie Fury's fight against Joseph Parker on May 6.

Peter Fury, who is Hughie's trainer and father, was earlier in the week denied entry into the country because of two stints in prison for drug related offences.

Fury’s visa is for the period of March 28 - May 10, which will give him a month to train Hughie before the title bout against Parker in Auckland.

The fight will be the first time Parker has defended his WBO World Heavyweight Championship since winning it in a unification title fight against Andy Ruiz on December 11 last year.

Peter also trains Hughie’s cousin Tyson who previously held the WBO heavyweight title.

It is not the first time that Peter Fury was denied entry to a country for his chequered past.

In 2013, Fury’s visa was rejected by the United States government and was unable to be in the corner for Tyson’s fight against Steven Cunningham at Madison Square Garden.
