Live updates: Penrith Panthers vs New Zealand Warriors - NRL

PANTHERS 36 - 28 WARRIORS

FULLTIME: That is it! The comeback of the century (in rugby league)

It is the Super Bowl all over again. The team trailing 28-6 has come back to win the game. Could you compare it to the America's Cup?  Either way, the Panthers who trailed 28-6 at the break have won 36-28.

78mins: The Warriors clean up at the back but it means nothing. 30 unanswered points for the home side just wow.

77mins: I might sound like i'm grumpy but that pass WAS forward. But the Bunker can not rule on forward passes so oh well.

76mins: TRY PANTHERS: Tyrone Peachey looks like he has sealed the win for the Panthers. Foran tries chasing him down, but with a suspect hamstring he can't do much. Peachy loves the Warriors.

75mins: Great set by the Warriors. Foran puts up a bomb but Watene-Zelezniak catches and breaks the line.

75mins: Fus takes the high ball and the Warriors must make great ground off this set.

74mins: Matt Moylan returns the ball and after three plays, the Panthers are inside the Warriors half.

73mins: Panthers make great ground. They kick on the last, and Nicoll-Klokstad takes the ball.

71mins: Warriors with the ball again, but they look tired, while the Panthers are full of energy and rushing up quickly to shut down the Warriors attack.

70mins: 10 minutes to go. it is a two-point game in penrith who will win?

69mins: Solomone Kata is hobbling around the field. Could be his hamstring playing up again. Bunty Afoa is on.

68mins: The Warriors do complete their set and kick the ball into touch.

66mins: Finally the Panthers make a mistake and the Warriors can take a rest. The MUST, i repeat MUST just complete this set.

65mins: Another set of six for the Panthers.

64mins: Six more tackels for the Panthers.

63mins: Roger Tuivasa-Sheck makes another mistake at the back and the Panthers get more luck in their direction. Panthers scrum 10 from the line.

62mins: Another mistake by the Warriors This is going from bad to worse for the away side.

61mins: Roger Tuivasa-Sheck finally takes the catch and the away side finally get some ball in the second half.

60mins: Who would have thought, the Panthers are in the lead.

60mins: TRY PANTHERS: Matt Moylan ties the match up in Penrith. The Warriors are struggling right now.

58mins: The Panthers with a fresh set after the ball bounces off Issac Lukes head.

57mins: A perfect kick by Matt Moylan and RTS is tackled in goal and the Panthers have a fresh set.

56mins: The crowd has been sparked into life in the Blue Mountains. This is not the first time the Warriors have done this in 0217. They can't catch a break in the second half.

55mins: TRY PANTHERS: Waqa Blake goes the length of the field and gets his redemption. Isaah Yeo breaks the line and finds Tyrone Peachey who passes it to  Blake who scores in the corner.

53mins: TRY PANTHERS: Dallin Watene-Zelezniak scores the try. Bryce Cartwright
kicks the ball to an unmarked Kiwi who dives over.

52mins: Possible try to the Panthers. The Bunker is taking a look.

51mins: Matt Moylan catches the ball on the last and runs straight at the Warriors defence. The home side has been the better of the two teams to start the second half.

50mins: Nathan Clearly is claiming a try. But the Bunker is having a look. First time this match. He put in a grubber kick and regathers but I think he grounds the ball millimetres from the line.

49mins: The Warriors are making little ground off this set and Johnson is forced to use his AFL skills to punt the ball away.

48mins: Panthers nearly kick a 40/20, but Roger Tuivasa-Sheck stops the ball going out.

46mins: TRY PANTHERS: After back-to-back penalties, Isaah Yeo is put into a gaping hole and he scores his second of the match.

45mins: Another penalty to the Panthers. The crowd is getting loud in Penrith.

44mins: Warriors give away a sloppy penalty after interfering with the play-the-ball.

43mins: Solid set by the Warriors. Panthers now back on the attack. Making decent yards off their set thanks to some Warriors-esk play.

41mins: Warriors win a penalty after Isaah Yeo was offside after a Panthers kick.

40mins: Found out the stat. The last time the Warriors kicked a 40/20 was round one in 2015 against the Newcastle Knights.

40mins: The second half is underway in Penrith. Can the Warriors continue to dominate and claim back-to-back wins? Panthers have first use of the ball.

HALFTIME: Excellent first half by the Warriors. They looked average at times with the ball, but they have been the better side as they take a 28-6 lead into the break.

Panthers will come out fired up, and will look to score early in the second here in Penrith, but the question is will the Warriors be able to hold them out? or  will we get the Warriors team who struggles in the second half?

40mins: TRY WARRIORS: The Panthers look like they are going to score but David Fusitu'a intercepts again and Waqa Blake chases him down again but Fus gets the better of him in round two to score.

38mins: Panthers knock the ball on on the last. On the Warriors return set they knock it on, so the Panthers will have one last chance before the break.

37mins: Luke kicks on the last and the panthers start the set inside the Warriors half.

36mins: Nicoll-Klokstad cleans up again. he is going great again in his second NRL match. The Panthers are looking quite down which is understandable but this match is far from over.

35mins: Great set by the Warriors following the try. Panthers look to return the ball as Corey Harawira-Naera comes onto the field.

34mins: Another kick goes over for the Warriors. 22-6 lead now.

32mins: TRY WARRIORS: Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad scores a double. Foran kicks the ball in goal and the ball bounces past everybody and the youngster puts the ball down.

31mins: Warriors kick a 40/20 That is right a 40/20 I can't remember the last time that happened.

30mins: The Warriors are making little to no ground with the ball which does concern me. Only 15 metres made in that set. Has happened a few times so far this match.

29mins: Panthers have a scrum after Kieran Foran knocks the ball on.

28mins: Nathan Clearly kicks the ball high and Nicoll-Klokstad soars high to take the ball. Now the Warriors are back on the attack. This is crucial set for the Warriors.

26mins: Nathan Clearly kicks the conversion. That will be concerning from the Warriors, how easy they let the Panthers score after not having much football.

25mins: TRY PANTHERS: The Panthers are back in the match after Isaah Yeo makes a great run, beating four defenders to dive over the line.

24mins: Touch in goal and the Panthers have a seven-tackle set. They need to just complete their sets. But after the first play they in a penalty.

23mins: Panthers defend well on that set, as the Warriors only make 14 metres. As they return the ball Issac Luke intercepts the ball and the Warriors are in attacking range again.

22mins: Panthers kick the ball into touch and now Waqa Blake is back out on the field.

21mins: Do you know who the Panthers miss? Josh Mansour. That guy is a metre-eater and would make a huge difference to this side. The Panthers need to get some grunt and speed on the field. One man on their bench can do that.... Tyrone Peachey! Who loves playing against the Warriors.

20mins: Warriors kick on the last and  Ryan Hoffman leaps into the air, but the ball is tipped forward. Panthers get some rare possession.

18mins: Johnson lands his second conversion. This is blowing out right now. The Warriors are making the Panthers pay for being a man down.

17mins: TRY WARRIORS: Ryan Hoffman scores the third of the night for the Warriors. Nice simple break through a massive hole by Hoffman.

16mins: The Panthers are under the pump after Solomone Kata makes a great, but is stopped by James Fisher-Harris. The Warriors kick on the last and the Panthers force it down. The Warriors will have a fresh set of six.

14mins: The conversion is wide. Warriors lead by 10.

12mins: TRY WARRIORS: Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad scores his first career try. Some nice passing by the away side and CNK dives over the line.

11mins: SIN-BIN PANTHERS: Waqa Blake tackles Fus but doesn't let go and is sent to the bin for 10 for a professional foul.

10min: The Panthers throw the cut out the ball and David Fusitu'a intercepts the ball.

9mins: The Panthers force a dropout. Nathan Clearly grubbers towards the post and Tuivasa-Sheck dives on the football. Very good set by the Panthers.

8mins: Great yards off that set,  but Johnsons kick on the last is charged and Isaah Yeo gathers possession.

7mins: Shaun Johnson kicks the conversion. Honestly, it looked like the Panthers were going to hold off the Warriors, but some magic passing leads to the try. A dream start for the Warriors.

5mins: TRY WARRIORS: Kieran Foran scores the first try of the game. The play started off a poor pass on the last tackle, but a great run from Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and then Bodene Thompson who offloads to Foran who scores his second try of the season.

4mins: The first mistake of the game gives the Warriors good field possession. Nathan Clearly kicks the ball out on the full kicking from dummy half. Warriors start their set inside Panthers territory.

3mins: Another great defensive set by the Panthers. Peta Hiku returns the ball.

2mins: Panthers make great metres. They kick on the last and tap the ball back. Peter Wallace kicks again but it travels into touch.

1mins: Shakey first set by the Warriors. Had a little bobble of the ball on the third tackle. Panthers start their set 25 metres from their line.

KICKOFF: We are underway in Penrith. The Warriors get the first set of the match.

4:59 pm: The Warriors are on the field. Panthers coming out shortly.

4:58 pm: If you missed the news, Manu Vatuvei is out after injuring his calf in training, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad will make his second start of the year.

4:56 pm: It is a beautiful afternoon in Penrith. Should have some fantastic running rugby at the foot of the mountains. RTS will play his 100th NRL match so the captain will be desperate to get the W.

Pre-match banter -  Round table: What's the minimum result the Warriors need to call Kieran Foran's year a success?

The worse-kept secret in the NRL was confirmed midweek when Kieran Foran announced his impending departure from the Warriors.

The 26-year-old will be taking his talents to Sydney and the Canterbury Bulldogs.

But what we all want to know is whether he will have any lasting effect on the Auckland club.

This week on the round table, a selection of Newshub's finest answer this question: What's the minimum result the Warriors need to achieve to mark Kieran Foran's one-year adventure a success?

Sam Ackerman, general head of Newshub sport

It's a trick question. Clearly anything less than making the top eight is a failure for any NRL team and the Warriors will be judged the same way.

It's ridiculous to suggest they have to make the top four or the Grand Final for the investment (which was a bargain basement price) to be worthwhile. If they make the top eight for the first time in six seasons, that would be a big deal.

But Foran's one season stint can be a success regardless - if he can instill his competitive drive and direct approach into any of his teammates to carry into 2018, and if he can help sculpt Ata Hingano from raw talent into a fully fledged first grader who can be the even-headed foil for Shaun Johnson. Foran's true influence might not be known for a few years yet.

Henry Rounce, RadioLIVE sports reporter

The minimum result has to be the top eight, something the Warriors haven't achieved since 2011. This should be the expectation every season, regardless of what players they have.

I don't think this year lives or dies on the back of Foran. He's been a brilliant, incredibly influential addition, but the expectation he would come in and lead the club to a title in his first year has always been exaggerated and unrealistic.

If Foran helps the club to the playoffs, lifts the mood and morale around Mt Smart, teaches important football lessons to the likes of Shaun Johnson and Ata Hingano, and leaves the club in a better position than when he found it, then that's a success for me.

Andrew Gourdie, Newshub sport presenter

Kieran Foran's one-year adventure is already a success.

The Warriors got a quality player, on a cut-price deal, for a short time only. My expectations were high for the Warriors heading into the season, but Foran's performance alone can't dictate where the club finishes.

If anything, we may not be able to truly measure Foran's success at the Warriors until we know what sort of legacy he's left.

If his professionalism rubs off on those around him and Ata Hingano can discover what it means to be a playmaker by learning from one of the very best, then Foran's year at the club will have been well and truly worth it.

Simon Hampton, Newshub sport reporter, Wellington

If you look at this purlely from a Warriors on-field perspective, then they absolutely must be in the playoffs.

Of course, there are other things that will dictate whether this is a success for Foran himself, and it certainly looks like spending a year in New Zealand has done him good.

As for the Warriors, he does wonders for their attack and I'd think a minimum of at least one playoff win would render the move a success.

Kirstie Stanway, Newshub sport reporter

The numbers don't lie.

Prior to Kieran Foran's round five debut, the Warriors were one win from four. Since then the Mt Smart side has defeated the Titans, Eels and the red-hot Roosters.

The 26-year-old has taken the pressure off Shaun Johnson, straightened the Warriors' attack and most importantly he's brought with him a professional, winning attitude that will stick with the club long after 2017.

There is no doubt Foran's impact has already been felt, but if he wants to be recognised for his time in Auckland he will need to lead the Warriors deep into the finals.
