Serbian ace Novak Djokovic has decided to sit out the rest of the tennis season to sort out his troublesome right elbow injury.

That means the world number four will miss the U.S Open, ending a run of 51 consecutive appearances in Grand Slam tournaments.

The former world No. 1 also revealed there will be a new addition to the family during his down time.

The 30-year-old's last match was a quarterfinal defeat at Wimbledon, when he retired hurt.

He plans to make his comeback ahead of the Australian Open in January, and he confirmed American great Andre Agassi would remain part of his coaching team in 2018.
