Laura Langman has placed at risk a Commonwealth Games berth for the Silver Ferns in 2018 after re-signing for the Sunshine Coast Lightning.

Langman played a big role in the Lightning's Suncorp Super Netball championship, and will return next season, along with coach Noeline Taurua.

However, the decision to remain in Queensland will likely make it more difficult for the 141-Test veteran to return to the Silver Ferns ahead of next year's Commonwealth Games with the selection policy hinged on players that play their netball in New Zealand's domestic competition.

Langman raised eyebrows back in 2015 after announcing she would be leaving the country to play netball abroad for the New South Wales Swifts.

The 31-year-old was one of 10 players to re-sign with the team that beat the Giants in the final.
