Warriors' owner Eric Watson has assured fans he is in no rush to sell the club.

Watson issued a statement on Friday night addressing the rumours regarding the potential sale of the club.

On Sunday, Auckland businessman Paul Davys revealed he was in talks of buying the club.

Davys had originally put a Friday deadline on his offer, Watson's seemingly not worried saying he wants to focus on the remainder of the season.

"I appreciate there has been a good deal of media coverage over the past week regarding the ownership of the Vodafone Warriors, and it is true that several parties have expressed the desire to be involved in our future," Watson said in the statement.

"These interests are being considered privately but as I've said before there is no rush and any decision will be made with the best interests of the club in mind.

"In the meantime we are focused on our remaining games of this season and implementing our plans for the 2018 season"

Mr Watson has owned the club for the past 17 years.

The 58 year-old bought the franchise in 2000 from a consortium including Tainui and former Kiwis coach Graham Lowe.
