WBO champion Joseph Parker is targeting a unification bout with IBO and WBA title holder Anthony Joshua in July next year.

The Daily Mirror reports that Parker and Joshua's team are already discussing the details with the fight to be staged at London's Wembley Stadium.

The fight is dependent on Joshua beating Kubrat Pulev on October 28th in Cardiff with more than 70,000 tickets already sold for the bout at Millennium Stadium.

Parker successfully defended his WBO belt on the weekend, beating Hughie Fury by a majority decision in Manchester to improve his record to 24-0.

It was Parker's second successful defence since winning the belt in December.

Before potentially facing Joshua, Parker's promoter David Higgins said they are looking at a possible fight against Japanese heavyweight Kyotaro Fujimoto which would likely happen before the end of the year.

"Next steps are very exciting, the world is our oyster now because we have a voluntary challenger, not a mandatory one," said Higgins.

"We can negotiate multiple deals at the same time and on our terms.

"Kevin Barry (Parker's trainer) and I are looking at options as far afield as Japan. No Japanese heavyweight has ever fought for a world title in Tokyo and then there's our promotional partner in the United States Bob Arum with his new ESPN deal."
