An Auckland school has made two students apologise for asking "disrespectful" questions to Warriors players while on a visit to the school.

Blockhouse Bay Intermediate principal Michael Malins told NZME the two students had to write an apology letter to the club.

According to the report, one student asked why the team lost so often while the other asked where they sat on the competition table.

Mr Malins wouldn't confirm what questions were asked, but said they were deemed disrespectful according to the school's values.

It is not known which players were asked the questions by the pupils.

The Warriors had one of their worst seasons in the club's 22-year history this year, finishing 13th out of 16 teams - ending the season on a nine-game losing streak.

They also missed the finals for the sixth consultative season, while having the second-lowest average home attendance of 11,754.
