Two-time Olympic rowing champion Hamish Bond's Commonwealth Games preparations have taken a blow after a run-in with a rhus tree.
Bond took to Instagram to share a photo of the after-effects with his face visibly swollen following an allergic reaction to the poisonous garden tree.
The former gold medal-winning rower made the switch to cycling ahead of the Games on the Gold Coast in April, and will ride in time trial and road race events.
