Brad Thorn's Queensland Reds are the latest team linked to controversial Waratahs and Wallabies star Israel Folau.

The 29-year-old is off contract with Rugby Australia (RA) at the end of the season, and some teams are chasing his services, including franchises in Europe, and the NRL.

But according to the Daily Telegraph, Folau could be making a move north to Queensland if he re-signs with the RA.

The report says discussions between Thorn and Folau about a move are at a preliminary stage.

The dual-code international has connections with the state, having previously played for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL as wells as the Queensland State of Origin side.

Folau has been the centre of media attention over the past month due to comments made on social media saying gay people would be condemned to "hell" unless they "repent" for their sins.
