Titanic cracker sells for $34K

The price of food seems to be ever-increasing, but how much would you pay for a cracker?

One Greek collector has dished out over $34,000 (£15,000) for a single cracker that was in a survival kit aboard one of the Titanic's lifeboats.

Auctioneer Andrew Alridge from Henry Aldridge & Son auction house in Devizes, England, says the cracker has earned the title of "the world's most valuable biscuit".

He said the cracker was saved by passenger James Fenwick, who was aboard The Carpathia – a passing ship which picked up survivors from the sunken ship.
