One Sydney man has seized the opportunity amid the severe storm lashing Australia to catch a fish from his apartment balcony.
Vincent Cotte's property is usually 30 metres from the Narrabeen Lake, but a storm hitting the east coast of Australia has brought the water to him.
Sure enough, it was easy to reel in a small fish, which Mr Cotte then threw back in the water.
"It's like Christmas," he said. "Look at them; there is heaps of fish."
In an interview he later said he had always wanted to fish from his balcony, and he "seized the day".
People were evacuated earlier from the local caravan park and the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation over fears the lake would flood.
