A two-truck crash near Maramarua has left one driver in hospital.
The Fire Service attended the scene on State Highway 2 at around 10:50pm after two trucks crashed head-on.
One driver was taken to Middlemore Hospital by helicopter in a serious condition. Their condition has since been downgraded to moderate.
