Five people have been injured after a motorist lost control of his car, mounted the footpath and struck a group of five people in south Auckland overnight.
The incident occurred just after 3am on Dominion Rd in Papakura, and police say the two people in the vehicle were also injured.
Of the five pedestrians, two have been seriously injured.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
